Ixia aristata, Ker. Corm globose, with strong fibers: lvs. 3-4, linear, strongly ribbed: st. slender, to 1 1/2 ft. high, simple or branched: fls. many, in a loose spike; perianth-tube slender (3/4in. or less); limb whitish (pink in B.M. 589), with oblong segms. Var. eiegans, Baker, has narrower and less rigid lvs., and much shorter tube. The above text is from the Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture.
