Tritonia rosea, Klatt. Tall and branched, with short linear lvs. and loose 6-15-fld. racemes: fls. bright red, with oblong segms. (the 3 lower ones yellow-blotched at the base) as long as the tube and anthers just protruding from the tube. Cape Colony. B.M. 7280.—Can be left in the open as far north as Mass., if well protected, but are usually safer if taken up. CH
