Quite distinct from any other of the whipcord species: a shrub of globose form, 4-6 ft. high: branches numerous, very slender, 1/30 in. diam., green, clothed with decussate cypress-like scale-like lvs. in distant pairs, much shorter than the inter-nodes and about 1/20 in. long: fls. in small terminal heads, small, lilac: caps. obovoid.
