Zingiber darceyi, Hort.; also spelled d'Arceyi and d'Arcyi. About 2-3 ft. high: lvs. lanceolate, 6-8 x 2-2 1/2 in., bright shining green with a broad creamy white or often pink margin and oblique stripes of the same color: fls. deep red, ball-like.—Intro. into Fla. This species is not treated by Schumann and is probably of horticultural origin.
