Magnolia acuminata, Linn. Cucumber Tree. Tall, pyramidal tree, to 90 ft.: lvs. oval to oblong, shortly acuminate, rounded or acute at the base, soft pubescent and light green beneath, 6-9 in. long: fls. greenish yellow or glaucous green, about 2- 3 ½ in. high, with upright petals: fr. cylindric, pink, 3-4 in. long.
