Mahonia nervosa, Nutt. (Berberis nervosa, Pursh. M. glumacea, DC.). Dwarf shrub: sts. with long pointed, husk-like bud-scales: lvs. on stalks 1—4 in. long; Ifts. 9-19, lance-ovate, remotely spiny-toothed, 3-5-ribbed, pale green, 1-3 in. long: racemes elongated, erect: fr. oblong, blue.
