Mesembryanthemum spectabile, Haw. St. prostrate, but branches ascending: lvs. 2-3 in. long, crowded, glaucous, incurved and spreading, triquetrous, attenuate and mucronate: fls. purplish; petals 1 in. long, the inner somewhat shorter. B.M. 396. G.W. 14, p. 649.
