Salix lucida, Muhl. Shrub or low bushy tree, 6-15 ft. high: branches yellowish brown and highly polished: buds large, flattened, and recurved at the apex: lvs. large, broadly lanceolate-acuminate, serrate, dark green, shining above: aments large, appearing with the lvs.; scale pale green, deciduous; stamens 4-5; ovary pedicelled, rather obtuse, glabrous.
