Lagurus (Greek, lagos, a hare; oura, a tail). Gramineae. Hare's-Tail Grass. A hardy annual: spikelets 1-fld., aggregated in a close panicle forming an ovoid head; scarious glumes persistent and clothed with fine woolly hairs: lemma with a dorsal awn.—Contains a single species, native of the Medit. region, cult, for ornament, the small white heads being used for dry bouquets.
