Spiraea douglasii, Hook. Fig. 3669. Shrub, 8 ft. high, with reddish brown, tomentose branches: lvs, oblong to narrow-oblong, rounded or acutish at both ends, unequally serrate above the middle, densely white-tomentose beneath, 1 1/2 - 4 in. long: fls. deep pink, in dense, rather narrow or sometimes broad panicles, 4-8 in. long; stamens twice as long as the obovate petals; sepals reflexed in fr.: follicles glabrous.
