Tilia oliveri, Szyszylowicz. Tree, to 50 ft.: young branchlets reddish brown, glabrous: lvs. ovate, short-acuminate, cordate or truncate at the base, sinuately denticulate, with short gland-tipped teeth, dark green and glabrous above, white-tomentose beneath, without axillary tufts, 3-5 in. long; petioles glabrous: fls. about 20, in pendulous cymes; bract sessile; pedicels short, thickened: fr. globose, tomentose and tuberculate; apiculate, thick-shelled. Cent. China.—This recently intro. species promises to be a handsome ornamental tree. CH
