Veronica balfouriana, Hook. f. Erect, glabrous shrub, 3 ft. high: lvs. subsessile, 1/3 – 3/4 in. long, elliptic-ovate, subacute or obtuse, margins red-brown: racemes 2-3 in. long, many-fld.: fls. pale violet-blue, calyx-segms. acute: caps. one-third longer than calyx-segms. or less.—Raised in the Royal Botanic Garden, Edinburgh, from seed sent from New Zeal. but it has not been found growing wild as yet, nor is it cult. in New Zeal.
