Phoenix dactylifera, Linn. (P. cycadifolia, Hort.). Date Palm. Fig. 2920. St. erect, to 100 ft. and more: lvs. glaucous, arcuate-ascending; lfts. linear-lanceolate, acuminate, 8-16 in. long, strongly complicate, the lower 4-ranked, the upper 2-ranked, irregularly and remotely aggregate: fr. cylindrical-elliptical, 1-2 in. long.
