Ipomoea ternata, Jacq. (I. horsfalliae var. alba, Hort. I. horsfalliae var. thomsaniana, Hort. I. thomsoniana, Mast.). St. somewhat woody at base: lvs. usually 3-parted, the segms. elliptic or elliptic-oblong, fleshy, smooth: fls. trumpet-shaped, about 2 in. across. Otherwise like I. horsfalliae, of which it is often considered a variety. Probably from W. Indies. G.C. II. 20:817. F. 1884, p. 118.—Not considered quite so effective for greenhouse cult, as I. horsfalliae.
