Pancratium tortuosum, Herb. Bulb globose, 2 in. or less diam., with long cylindrical neck: lvs. 6-12, linear, spirally twisted, 1 ft. or less long, with the fls., the latter 2-4 in an umbel: perianth-tube 5-6 in. long, the segms. linear and ascending, greenish; staminal cup over 1 in. long, distinctly toothed between the short free tips of the filaments. Autumn and winter. Arabia and Egypt. CH
