Cercis racemose, Oliv. Tree, to 30 ft.: lvs. broadly ovate, truncate or subpordate at the base, pubescent beneath, 2½-4 in. long: fls. rosy pink, about ½in. long on slender pedicels of about equal length, in many-fld. racemes l½-3 in. long: pod 2½-4 in. long. Cent. China. H.I. 1894.—The handsomest of all. Young plants have not proved hardy at the Arnold Arboretum, but it is perfectly hardy in S. England.
