Actinidia polygama, Maxim. To 25 ft.: pith of branches solid, white: lvs. broadly ovate to ovate-oblong, 3-6 in. long, rounded or embcordate at the base, appressed serrate, mostly setose on the veins beneath, variegation white or yellowish: fls. white, 3/4in. across; ovary bottle-shaped: fr. yellow, bitter. June. Japan, Korea, Manchuria to Cent, and W. China.—Known as silver vine on account of the beautiful silvery white color of the young lvs. of the staminate plant.
