Plant 1-5 ft., glabrous or nearly so, branched and leafy: lvs. small, oval or spatu- late, entire: fls. in leafy panicles, the peduncles 1-fld., the broad fls. about 1 in. long, the lower lip deeply 2-lobed; sterile filament bearded on one side.
