Lastrea rigida, Kuntze. Stalks stout, densely scaly: lf.- blades 1-1 1/2 ft. long, 4-6 in. wide, oblong-lanceolate, the lower pinnae not reduced; segms. with mucronate teeth. Eu. Var. arguta is native and wild in Calif., and is often considered a distinct species. CH
