Stachys aspera, Michx. Erect, usually strict, 3-4 ft. high, the st. retrorsely hairy on the angles: lvs. oblong-ovate to oblong-lanceolate, mostly acuminate, serrate, petiolate: corolla small, glabrous, pale red or purple, in an interrupted spike. Wet places, Ont. and Minn. to the Gulf. L.B.C. 15:1412.—Has been offered by dealers in native plants. CH
