Deutzia kalmiaeflora, Lemoine (D. parvifloraxD. purpurascens). Lvs. oblong to ovate-oblong, short-acuminate, broadly cuneate at the base, serrulate, rough above, slightly stellate pubescent below, 1-2½ in. long: fls. in rather small corymbs, pinkish, white in the center, light carmine outside, cup-shaped, ¾ in. across; petals mostly imbricate in bud; stamens half as long as petals; filaments with large teeth, nearly as long as the anthers; styles shorter than stamens. M.D.G. 1913:25. G. 27:199. Gn. W. 17:627.—One of the handsomest hybrids. CH
