Phyteuma pauciflorum. Linn. Very dwarf, said by Correvon to be the smallest and most tufted of the genus, about 3 in. high: lvs. entire or toothed at obtuse tip; root- lvs. short, obovate-lanceolate: bracts ciliate, entire or subdentate at base, never dentate at apex: fls. few in heads with ovate-orbicular bracts, violet-blue. W. Alps, Carpathians and Pyrenees. Gn. 63, p. 40. CH
