Erect, 5-6 ft. high: lvs. opposite, ovate to oblong or elliptical; involucral lvs. 4, very rarely 5 or 6, as long as the fl.-tubes, glabrous: fls. sometimes female only, silky hairy, white, in rather large globular heads.
