Tulipa acuminata, Vahl. Fig. 3872. Height 12-18 in.: lvs. 4, lowest lanceolate, all undulated at margins: peduncle shining: perianth very open, light yellow splotched with red lines; segms. sometimes 4 1/2 in. long, less than 1/2 in. wide, with edges rolled in; stamens yellow; filaments flattened, glabrous; ovary prismatic; stigmas very large, yellow, not undulated. Turkey (?) "This, the well-known Turkish tulip, is a most distinct type, of which the native country is not clearly known. It has the bulb, leaf, and glabrous peduncle of T.
