Rhodotypos kerrioides, Sieb. & Zucc. (R. tetrapetala, Makino). Fig. 3394. Much-branched, spreading shrub, usually 3-6 ft. high (in Japan 15 ft.): lvs. ovate to ovate- oblong, acuminate, sharply and doubly serrate, silky- pubescent beneath when young, 1 1/2-3 in. long: fls. pure white, 1 1/2 in. across.
