Rigidella flammea, Lindl. St.3-5 ft. high:lvs. broadly equitant, plicate and sheathing the st. below: fls. in terminal fascicles, between the 2-valved spathe; peduncles recurved but becoming erect in fr.; perianth 3-foliate, the limb concave and revolute, bright scarlet striped black at the throat, spirally twisted after anthesis: caps. papery, 3-valved at the apex.
