Masdevallia triaristella, Reichb. f. Lvs. about 2 in. long, in very crowded tufts: peduncles longer than the lvs., very .slender, erect, wiry: dorsal lobe of calyx ovate, hooded; tail yellow; lateral lobes coloring throughout their length, linear, united, at length diverging into short yellow tails; petals yellow, with a red midline. Summer. Costa Rica.— One of the smallest of orchids.
