Ruellia ciliosa, Pursh. A hardy perennial herb, about 1 1/2 ft. high, erect or prostrate, hirsute or pubescent: lvs. hairy, ciliate, usually oblong, sessile or short-petioled, 1 1/2-3 in. long: fls. solitary or clustered, axillary, blue, 1 1/2-2 in. long. Aug., Sept. In dry, light soil, N. J., south and west. B.B. 3:203.—Prop. by seeds or division.
