Begonia engleri, Gilg. (B. Engleriana, Hort.). Striking species with mostly a single st.: conspicuously red - strigose - hairy and scaly, becoming 5 ft. tall: Lvs. large and showy, thin, oblique and ovate-oblong, deeply and evenly serrate, hairy, red-ribbed: fls on long pendulous peduncles, numerous, pink. E.Trop.Afr.-Distinct, and worthy of attention on account of its handsome hairy lvs.
