Holodiscus dumosus, Heller (H. discolor var. dumdsus, Dipp. Spiraea dumosa, Nutt. H. australis, Heller). Erect shrub, 8ft. high: lvs. obovate, acute or obtuse, cuneate at the base, coarsely toothed, pubescent above, whitish- tomentose beneath, 1-2 in. long: panicle ovoid or conic, 2-7 in. long, with ascending or spreading branches. Wyo. and Utah to New Mex. and Mex. Bull. TorreyBot, Club. 25:338.
