Streptopus amplexifolius, DC. Rootstock short, stout: st. usually taller than S. roseus: lvs. clasping, 3-6 in. long: peduncles 1-2 in. long, usually 2-fld.: fls. about 1/2 in. long: berry red. May-July. Moist rich woods, N. U. S. and Canada south to N. C. and New Mex.; also in Eurasia. CH
