Aneilema (Greek, no involucre). Syn., Aphylax. Commelinaceae. Sixty tropical perennials, allied to Commelina, from which it may be distinguished by its sub-paniculate infl. A. biflorum, R. Br., and A. sinicum, Lindl., are sometimes cult, in Old World hothouses and in American botanic gardens. These species are blue-fld., diffuse or trailing plants with their fls. having no involucral bracts. Culture as in Dichorisandra.
