Forage Plants

Forage Plants are mentioned only incidentally in this work, as they belong to agriculture rather than to horticulture. They are mostly grasses and leguminous plants, and have a very large special literature, much of which can be secured from the United States Department of Agriculture, Washington, D. C., the various experiment stations, and separate books. Some of the forage plants are of interest to horticulturists as green-manures and cover-crops. ^CH The above text is from the Standard Cyclopedia of Horticulture.
