Hymenaea courbarfl, Linn. Tree, to 60 ft.: lfts. 2, nearly sessile, oblong, very oblique at the base, acuminate, glabrous, about 3 in. long; petiole ½ in. long: fls. short-pedicellate; petals about ¾ in. long, yellow, striped purplish: pod few-seeded, 3-4 in. long. W. Indies to Brazil. Alfred Rehder.
