Iris caerulea, Fedtsch. (I. caucasica var. caerulea, Regel. I. orchoides var. caerulea, Hort.). Lvs. about 8: st. about 15 in. high, bearing 3-4 fls. in the axils of the lvs.: fls. bright lilac; outer segms. with a ligulate claw expanded slightly at the base and an obovate-oblong blade with a conspicuous whitish crest and a yellow blotch on the throat; inner segms. pendant, with a narrow pointed lanceolate blade. Turkestan.
