Lycopodium obscurum, Linn. (L. dendroideum, Michx. L. japonicum, Thumb.). Fig. 2236. Sts. 6-12 in. high, much- branched, forming a somewhat tree-like growth: lvs. loose, erect: spikes erect, ½ -1 ½ in. long. Temp. N. Amer. to Japan. G.W. 9, p. 520.—The common ground-pine.
