Masdevallia melanopus, Reichb. f. Much like M. polysticta: fls. smaller, white specked with purple, the dorsal sepal keeled, the lobes not ciliate or serrate on the edges and very suddenly contracted into slender yellowish or dark-colored tails; petals linear-oblong, toothed below the apex. Peru. B.M. 6258 (as M. polysticta).
