Nepenthes balfouriana, Mast. (N. mixta x N. Mastersiana). Pitchers 5-10 x 2-4 in., cylindric-ventricose, green with few large purple spots over surface or mainly toward peristome; wings large, fringed; peristome expanded, purple and green- striped: lid with sub- apical spur. G.C. III. 26:91.—A striking and fairly easily grown hybrid that was raised by Tivey, and which blends the parental characters of N. Northiana, N. maxima (N. Curtisii), N. sanguinea and N. khasiana.
