Pachira pustulifera, Pittier. A small tree: lvs. 7-folio- late; lfts. briefly petiolulate, ob-ovate, 4 1/2-9 in. long, minutely to-mentose beneath: fl. about 7 in. long; calyx stipitate, truncate, pubescent within and irregularly covered with large glands without; petals laciniate, pinkish, yellowish pubescent without; staminal tube short, pubescent, the stamens much shorter than petals: caps. 10 in. long by 8 in. diam. Costa Rica. CH
