Passiflora exoniensis, Hort. (hybrid of P. Van Volxemii and P. mollissima). Fig. 2774. Lvs. downy, cordate, ovate-oblong, divided nearly to base into 3 lanceolate, serrate segms.: fls. 4 1/2-5 in. across; sepals brick-red outside, brilliant rose-pink within; throat violet; tube white inside, 2 1/2 in. long. Resembles P. Van Volxemii in having peduncles as long as lvs., linear stipules, free downy bracts, filamentous corona near base of tube and violet color of throat. Resembles P. mollissima in having downy lvs., long flower-tube, color of fl. and aristate sepals. CH
