Phacelia congesta, Hook. (P. conferta, Don). Pubescent and commonly cinereous erect annual, hardly viscid or glandular in the least, a foot or more high: lvs. pinnately 3-7-divided or -parted, and with a few interposed small lobes, the main divisions oblong or oval, incisely pin-natifid or irregularly lobed, the lower ones mostly petiolate and the upper confluent: calyx-lobes linear or somewhat spatulate; corolla blue, 3 lines long, the lobes as long as the tube; stamens more or less exserted: seeds reticulate scabrous, the fine sharp meshes being, as it were, toothed at the junctions.
