Philadelphus floribundus (P. verrucosus floribundus, P. grandiflorus floribundus, Hort.). Hybrid of uncertain origin, probably with P. coronarius as one parent. Shrub resembling P. coronarius: lvs. generally hairier than in P. coronarius, and with characteristically very large, ovate-lanceolate to more often orbicular, generally coarsely toothed lvs. on young succulent shoots and suckers: fls. in racemes of about 5, about 2 in. across, slightly fragrant.
