Rudbeckia californica, Gray. A pubescent, rather rough, simple-stemmed perennial, with the dentate lvs. usually 2-lobed at the base: heads solitary, long-peduncled, composed of numerous rays which frequently exceed 2 in. diam., making a showy fl. nearly 5 in. wide. Pacific coast.—One of the best moderatesized rudbeckias.
