An annual plant, hairy, simple or somewhat branched, 6-18 in. high: lvs. cut or somewhat lyrate, the terminal lobe large, obovate, dentate, the upper ones often pinnately parted: fls. blue, in long-peduncled heads: corolla 5-cleft, the lobes radiate.
