Scolopendrium (from Scolopendra, the name of a centiped, the resemblance being found in the lines of linear sori on the backs of the lvs.). Polypodiaceae. The name most common in the trade for the hart's-tongue ferns (known as Scolopendrium vulgare) and its varieties. See Phyllitis. CH
