Sempervivum arachnoideum, sometimes known as cobweb houseleek, is a perennial plant of the genus Sempervivum. Its name arachnoideum refers to its furry central rosettes, resembling spider webs.

S. arachnoideum is a low-growing, evergreen perennial, often cultivated in rock gardens, that grows to 0.1m by 0.15m in full sun and well-drained soil. It flowers in July, with pink flowers that are raised on stems and hermaphrodite (having both male and female organs).

Sempervivum arachnoideum, Linn. (S. Hausmannii, Auersd., not Lehm. & Schnittsp. S. piliferum, Jord.). Cobweb or Spider-web Houseleek.. Barren rosettes 1/2 – 3/4 in. diam., the new ones crowded and sessile: lvs. about 50 to a rosette, oblong-cuneate, obscurely cuspidate, pale green, tips of nearly all the lvs. connected with long soft white hairs, outer lvs. tinted with red-brown on the back, about 3/8 in. long; cauline lvs. oblong-lanceolate, small, tips with a dense tuft of hairs: fl.-sts. 3-4 in. high including the dense few-fld. panicle: fls. 9-12-merous, about 1 in. across; calyx-segms. linear; petals lanceolate, bright red. S. Eu. Var. tomentosum, Cariot (S. tomentosum, Schnittsp. & Lehm. S. Webbianum, Hort.), has white tomentose rosettes, with more obovate-cuneate lvs. and the rosettes are flatter and more compact. Var. Hookeri, Hort., is offered in the trade. Var. minor, Hort., is offered in the trade. Var. rubrum, Hort., is offered in the trade.
