Sium latifolium, Linn. Water Parsnip. Sts. 3-5 ft. high, angular, furrowed and erect: lvs. pinnate; lfts. oblong-lanceolate, evenly serrate, pointed: umbels terminal; involucral lvs. many, lanceolate. Ditches and rivers, England.—Like Ferula and certain other umbelliferous plants, it is valued more for its stately habit and handsome foliage than for its fls. CH
