Spathoglottis aurea, Lindl. (S. plicata, Griff.). Lvs. 12-18 in. high, narrowly lanceolate: scape tall and stout, 2 ft. high: raceme 6-8 in. long; fls. 1 1/2 in. across, golden yellow; sepals broad, obtuse; middle lobe of the labellum equaling the falcate lateral lobes, narrowly lanceolate. Malay Penins. G.C. III. 4:93.— The lip varies, being sometimes broad and retuse at the apex. CH
