Sternbergia lutea (Autumn Daffodil, Fall daffodil, Lily-of-the-field, Winter daffodil, Yellow Autumn crocus) is a flowering plant in the family Amaryllidaceae, which is used as an ornamental plant.

Sternbergia lutea, Ker-Gawl. (Amaryllis lutea, Linn.). Bulb about 1 1/2 in. through: lvs. 6-8 to a bulb, strap-shaped, becoming 1 ft. long: fls. yellow, 1-4 to a bulb; tube less than 1/2 in. long; perianth-segms. about 1 1/2 in. long. Medit. region of Eu. and Asia.

Var. major, Hort., has fls. much larger than those of the type. CH
