Tall climbing shrub; bark pale: lvs. elliptic, oblong or linear-oblong, 1 1/2 - 4 x 3/4 – 1 1/2 in., glabrous or pubescent, acuminate: cymes pubescent, 3-10-fld., sessile or peduncled, dichotomous: fls. pure white, 2/3 in. across, fragrant; sepals ovate-oblong, obtuse; disk ciliate: follicles 6x2 in., straight, tapering from a rounded base to a stiff point. Himalaya to Burma and Ceylon. —Intro. into Fla.
